Bicentennial Lecture: History Day - April 27

With St. Matthew’s early history so closely intertwined with the history of the NC Diocese, we hope to take a large group to the Diocesan History Day at Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh. The day will feature talks by Brooks Graebner, Rev. Emeritus of St. Matthew’s, and the Rev. Dr. Benjamin King, professor of Church History at the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. Brooks’ address is entitled, “Mad Jack: The turbulent life and times of John Stark Ravenscroft.” Dr. King will set Ravenscroft’s views in a larger historical framework in his address, “From Proslavery to Black Liberation: The Revolution in High Church Theology.”

The deadline for registration is than April 21.  The cost is $20 and includes lunch.  If you are interested in carpooling from St. Matthew’s, please sign up in the Parish House or Fellowship Hall.
